Conclusion
This is the first study to explore the safety of chest physiotherapy in ventilated children and the wider
contextual factors. It has provided novel data regarding a popular treatment used in a vulnerable patient
group. Further research is required to understand the risks and benefits of chest physiotherapy.
Emma secured an Honorary Research Fellow position at UCL in December 2023.
