VIRTUAL IMPLEMENTATION OF THE
MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
The mentorship program will be fully implemented using virtual platforms to ensure
accessibility for participants from different locations. Here’s how the program will be
structured virtually:
1. Virtual Platform:
We will use a reliable and user-friendly virtual meeting platform (e.g., Zoom,
Microsoft Teams) for monthly check-ins and activities.
Communication will also take place via email, phone, or messaging apps (e.g.,
WhatsApp, Slack) for quick updates, reminders, and resources.
2. Kick-Off Orientation Session:
It is a requirement to attend orientation in order to participate in the program
An invitation to the orientation will be sent to participants to the email
submitted in the application
A virtual orientation session will be organized for all mentors and mentees at the
start of the program. During this session, we will:
Outline the program’s objectives, structure, and expectations.
Provide training for mentors on effective virtual mentoring techniques.
Give mentees an overview of the resources and tools available for their
development.
3. Monthly Check-Ins and Activities:
Each mentor-mentee pair will schedule monthly virtual meetings using the
platform of their choice. These meetings will focus on the structured activity
outlined for the month.
We will provide participants with templates, worksheets, and resources (e.g.,
goal-setting templates, networking tips) they can use to guide discussions and
keep track of progress.
To accommodate time zones and busy schedules, pairs can choose flexible
meeting times and asynchronous methods like recorded video messages when
live meetings aren’t possible.
4. Progress Tracking and Feedback:
We will create a virtual dashboard or platform (e.g., a Google Sheet or a learning
management system) where mentors and mentees can log their meeting dates,
submit activities, and progress updates.
All activities and actions must be submitted to the virtual dashboard 2 weeks
before scheduled meeting with mentor.
Quarterly virtual check-ins will be organized by program coordinators to gather
feedback and provide additional resources or guidance.
5. Virtual Events and Webinars:
Throughout the year, we will host virtual networking events, panel discussions,
and webinars featuring industry leaders and experts. These events will
complement the mentorship program and provide further learning and
networking opportunities for mentees.
