Can you tell us a bit about you and how you
became an entrepreneur - was it planned or
accidental?
It's definitely in my DNA. I9ve always had a drive to
create and build things. By 10, I started a club with
friends. At 13, I was selling computers, and by 15, I
launched a BBS. I got into computer graphics at 16,
multimedia at 18, and by 23, I launched an internet
agency. At 27, I started an association that eventually
became a business school. Now, at 42, I9m running
GoBrunch. It9s like I9ve always had this creative
energy pushing me to explore new ideas and turn
them into something real.
Why is community so important to you?
Bringing people together has always been part of
who I am. No matter what business I was in, I
naturally gravitated toward gathering people. I think
there's a real lack of human connection out there, and
a lot of us are looking for a sense of belonging. Too
often, we don't feel like we fit in because our
relationships are tied to where we come from or our
past. I believe we need to connect through shared
values, not geography. When we find those who
share our values, we find our place. And if that place
doesn9t exist yet, then we should create it.
Is there any advice you can give to other Founders
starting out?
Don9t start with the product—start with the audience.
Focus on the marketing hacks you know and build an
audience first, then figure out what to offer them. I
honestly believe the pyramid is upside down. Most of
us start by creating something, and then we scramble
to figure out how to market it, only to realize that9s
the hardest part. So, before you even create, ask
yourself: Do I know how to market this?
