This experience has taught me the
importance of empathy, inclusion, and the
need for better support systems for
neurodivergent children. As Dr. Stephen
Shore famously said, "If you've met one
person with autism, you've met one person
with autism.”. This quote highlights the
individuality of each person on the spectrum
and the importance of personalized support.
According to the CDC, approximately 1 in 36
children in the United States is diagnosed
with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This
statistic underscores the need for greater
awareness and resources to support these
children and their families.

As parents, we often feel the pressure to
understand everything about our children's
needs, but it's important to remember that it's
okay not to have all the answers. What truly
matters is loving and accepting each other for
who we are. Brynlee's journey is a testament
