Embracing Brynlee's
Unique Journey:
A Mother's Perspective
By Jess Toft, Founder of Think N Grow Big and Miss Jess V
As a mother and an advocate for education
and inclusion, my journey with my daughter
Brynlee has been both challenging and
enlightening. Brynlee's story is one of
resilience, love, and the fight for
understanding and acceptance.
Throughout this journey, I have been by
Brynlee's side, advocating for her and
ensuring she receives the support she
needs. As someone who has managed
and run childcare centers, I often felt the
weight of societal expectations and
judgments. However, I knew deep down
that Brynlee is who she is because of
her unique qualities and the way she
perceives the world.
From an early age, Brynlee faced bullying
at school, which led us down a
difficult path. Despite my efforts to get her
assessed through the school system, we
were denied. It took a year of enduring this
turmoil before Brynlee
was correctly diagnosed on the autism
spectrum by Frasier.
