Beautifully Diverse Fashion - Frances Helena - New York Fashion Week
Frances is a high achiever who has faced
numerous financial, emotional, mental, and
physical challenges. Despite this, she has
never let her past define who she is now.
Despite recently losing her hearing, she
never gives up on her dreams. She believes
anything is possible if you want it.
It is obvious why she started Beautifully
Diverse Fashion and its purpose and the
impact she hopes to have, Frances.
"I founded Beautifully Diverse Fashion as a
response to the issue in Australia's fashion
industry, which does not accommodate
people of all shapes, sizes, and disabilities.
In addition to developing a line of ecofriendly clothing and shoes, we celebrate
and accept diversity and people of all ages,
disabilities, and life experiences.
"This brand was also created to highlight
the fashion industry's issues of sexual
assault, which is not only in the Australian
fashion industry, but worldwide, and by
highlighting this situation, we've released
an international best-selling book 'Me Too
But Never Again', which has become a
global phenomenon in four different nations
and number one in specific categories. This
business has grown significantly in the past
eight months. It has gained a few titles
being the first Australian brand to headline
for one of New York Fashion Week's
platforms, and was chosen to participate as
a fashion brand in three different nations.
"The mission is to transform the fashion
industry by showcasing individuals from all.

Background and showing that regular
people can achieve anything. People of all
ages, skin tones, ethnicities, and disabilities
should feel good about themselves and
shouldn't be afraid to represent who they
are in the fashion industry. Beautifully
Diverse Fashion's vision aims to protect
those in the fashion industry by making the
industry accountable for inappropriate
behaviours by professionals... that isn't
spoken of."
She hopes to leave the industry better than
she found it...
"Since young people are entering this
glamorous industry but are unaware of the
problems behind the scenes, the legacy I
hope to leave would be to encourage
victims to take a stand on what is wrong
and hold the industry accountable for its
actions but also to make the industry better
and safe for everyone. I want to encourage
people to stay in the fashion industry
because it is a fun field that makes work
interesting. Having regulations in place to
safeguard models or anybody else who is a
victim of sexual violence would be another
element of this legacy."
