With the Enthronement of Archbishop
Spyridon in 1997, growing concerns
about the vulnerability of the
endowment fund were addressed,
and a decision was made to transfer
the funds into a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit
corporation. At the time, George P.
Kokalis was serving as Chairman (from
1996 to 2000) and Fr. Mark Arey as
Interim Executive Director (from 19971998). This significant and visionary
action was authorized by Archbishop
Spyridon on February 9, 1998, with
funds transferred into the Archbishop
Iakovos Leadership 100 Endowment
Fund Incorporated but incorporated in
the State of New York as the Archbishop
Iakovos Leadership 100 Fund
Incorporated on April 30, 1998.

Funding was initiated for Internet
Ministries in 1997-1998 and for the
Orthodox Christian Mission Center
in 1997. The photographic coverage
of the Annual Conferences began in
1997.

bear fruit in their spiritual life and in
