CHRONOGRAPH 2
‘It is rare to offer both tachymeter and telemeter scales on a w atch
and they greatly enhance the tool w atch appeal of the Chronograph 2 .
The fiv e different hands of distinct shapes on a perfect symmetrical
dial and the color choices of brown, black, copper and silv er project
an unmistakably vintage look and art deco feel. The ov erall aesthetic
of the dial and case design created by Hajime is what sets the Kurono
Chronograph 2 apart in driving the strong collector interest .
The biggest delight is the classic aesthetic with a vintage , tool-like
look and feel, deriv ed from the DNA common in Mr. Hajime Asaoka’s
creations . The rigorous process of bringing ev ery Kurono model to
fruition with an artisan’s mindset and ey esight is key to the success
of the y oung brand. The tireless efforts in pursuing excellence in
w atchmaking and engaging w atch enthusiasts hav e resulted in GPHG
nominations and successful launches of one model after another.’

‘The new chronograph is rooted firmly in the mechanical timekeepers
of the sixties but , like Asaoka’s own w atches , has a distinct art deco
slant . On the one hand, y ou hav e a retro bi-compax lay out complete
with a technical-looking minute track; on the other y ou hav e the
beautiful mix of copper, silv er and dark brown first used in Kurono’s
earlier time-only Reiw a w atches . Perhaps more unusually is the
tachymeter which rather than being flung to the outer edge of the
bezel is far closer to the centre of the dial, intersecting the elapsed
time and seconds subdials , both of which are finished with their own
guilloche for a textural contrast with the main body of the dial. Ev en
the hands , which take after Japanese kyudo arrows are impressiv e .
The Chronograph 2 offers a lev el of finishing y ou just don’ t get in
accessible w atchmaking.’
