GRAND MORI `森'
「自然を手本にする」
という浅岡肇の哲学を反映した文字盤
In commemoration of Kurono Tokyo’s third anniversary, we celebrated
with the launch of the 2022 Anniversary Grand Mori ‘森’ which features the
traditional craftsmanship of the Japanese lacquer, 'urushi'.
Sensei paid special attention to his design and was inspired by the canopies
of the forest. The patterns on the dial mimics the sun rays seeping through
the layers of the trees, reflecting the concept and philosophy of “nature is
the teacher”.
The metallic green shade of the dial not only embodies the verdure but
also enhances the fine details of the pattern. This makes it captivating each
time especially under various angles and lighting. The complexity allows for
multiple interpretations whilst bringing out harmony, just like the concept of
the canopies in nature.
