ARTSCAMP
Students Take the Spotlight
Campers performing in “Little Me, Big World. Explore It All!”
The stage was set for a summer of excitement and
inspiration, as ArtsCamp kicked off on June 3, 2024. The
Kravis Center welcomed 80 young artists to three weeks of
fun and learning all about the performing arts. Under the
guidance of seven professional teaching artists, campers
explored art, acting, dance, technical theater and vocal
music. They got a behind-the-scenes experience and had
an unforgettable summer discovering what it takes to
bring a show to the stage.
“Our mission for ArtsCamp is to encourage the campers
to think of themselves as artists and not just performers,”
said Tracy C. Butler, Director of Education for the Kravis
Center. “We use a unique rotation schedule so each
camper can experience every facet of ArtsCamp, from
working with a sound board and lighting instruments
to engaging in theater games and learning new
choreography and music.”
ArtsCamp is sponsored by Rodney B. and Marjorie S. Fink Foundation,
Rick and Rosemary Johnston, and NextEra Energy Board of Directors and
Senior Leadership Team in honor of Sherry Barrat. Additional support is
provided by Jane Beasley and the George T. and Ruth C. Laboda Foundation.
