Weaving together an enduring tapestry of movement, narrative, music and
Haitian folklore, BLACKBIRD, FLY! engages audiences in dialogue about
critical questions of our time. Steeped in hip-hop aesthetic, this intimate
duet between two preeminent sons of Haitian immigrants — composer/
violinist DBR and arts activist and spoken word artist BAMUTHI— as they
unveil their life stories in search of their identity and explore universal
themes of tolerance and inclusion.

Brooklyn’s LOS HACHEROS are modern-day torchbearers of the Golden Age
of Latin music. Their beat revives folkloric styles like son montuno, guaracha
and salsa, and often combines them with Bomba, a fiery rhythm from the
mountains of Puerto Rico.

blending New Orleans influences and
Haitian rhythms, with lyrics sung in
English, French and Haitian Creole, she
brings a fresh sound to the stage for
an unforgettable evening of music.
