PLAY
With the 8Return To Play, we were faced with the arduous task of returning with the
uncertainty of any government rule changes and ensuring we were adhering to all
covid safety guidelines.
The return was extremely difficult with Government guidelines constantly being
reviewed, compliance and disruptions&
Covid Risk Assessment - create and keep updating Kombatkids CRA that also
adhered with each individual school /venue
Schools / Venues - majority of our schools were not accepting our return due to
utilising their own halls as classrooms and having to source alternative venues
Social Distancing - split classes to reduce numbers to comply with government
guidelines / students with a clear 2m distance / one way in - one way out system
Class closures - due to a covid contact within a class or within a school/venue
Testing Positive - Instructor cover, students absence
Isolation - Students & Instructors having to isolate
Sanitisation - extend hall hire to allow additional time before, between and after
classes for sanitisation of tables, door handles, toilets etc / provide and ensure all
students sanitised hands
So many considerations had to be taken with social distancing i.e. class/toilet
breaks, no pair work, first aid, reduce any parent or person with parental
responsibility contact, contactless methods of payment & new class timetables.
We are thankful we have a fabulous group of Instructors and all their efforts shown
to keep connected with their parents/students and complying/ensuring a safe
return for the students.
We are proud of those students who continued to train for months in both zoom
and in their own time ready to return.
Lastly, we are thankful to our parents, for all areas of support from the start of the
covid crisis by supporting the zoom classes, writing emails of support and many
who kindly offered to still pay class fees to their Instructor to ensure continuity of
Kombatkids.
As we anticipated there has been a large demand for Kombatkids classes with a
number of classes stretched to full capacity. The strength of Kombatkids
organisation was tested and proven!
