For residential buildings, the recently introduced Fire
Safety Act clarified the need to consider the external wall
in your fire risk assessment and where required, for a risk
appraisal of the external wall to be completed in
accordance with PAS 9980.
EWS1 Forms
In residential tower blocks, mortgage lenders will often
request an External Wall System (EWS) Form as part
of a mortgage application.
The form, referred to as an EWS1 uses the PAS 9980
methodology and must be signed by a competent
person, sometimes this is a Chartered Fire Engineer.
We have been working with landlords since the form’s
inception and continue to offer this critical service.
Passive Fire Safety Inspections
Passive fire safety construction in your premises creates
separation between the escape routes and the occupied
areas. This separation ensures that in a fire, you can still
escape safely.
Whether as part of a new build project, or in an existing
building where you want to confirm the suitability of the
fire safety compartmentation, inspections will provide
assurance of your passive fire protection.
