Introductory Diploma in IT
WHY CHOOSE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY?
In Year 1 we start by building a solid foundation
on the fundamentals of hardware, software,
networks with the ethical and legal use of
computers and how businesses use IT. This will
be developed further by looking at the types of
information businesses encounter and how this
is stored and processed by organisations.
In Year 2 we will cover the Application
Developer Specialist Pathway where we will
explore Application Design by designing,
developing and implementing a prototype
mobile phone app to meet user requirements
and using these skills design and develop
a multipage Website. Cyber Security is
the examined unit where students will gain
knowledge and understanding of the range
of threats, vulnerabilities and risks that impact
both individuals and organisations within IT.
Students will learn about the solutions that can
be used to prevent or deal with cyber security
incidents resulting from these challenges.
