Support for
our students
We provide a range of strategies throughout the year
to make sure that you have every opportunity to
succeed. These include:
l Individual mentoring sessions with your form
tutor
l A personal development programme delivered in a
timetabled lesson every fortnight
l Visiting specialist speakers on a range of topics
including road safety and awareness, study skills
and subject specific workshops
l After school and lunch-time sessions in subject
specific areas for additional study and support
l Progress coaching - a short term intervention
for identified students to develop independent
learning skills. It is led by the Sixth Form Learning
Mentor who enables students to improve their
performance and provides a catalyst for the
development of independence, self-awareness
and organisational skills.
l One-to-one intervention where needed
l Formal performance reports and parents’ evenings
as well as regular updates from teachers and the
Sixth Form team to support progress
l Pastoral support from a dedicated Sixth Form
pastoral team
