APPLICATION
PROCESS
Varndean College, BHASVIC and Brighton MET together form the Accord Colleges in Brighton and
Hove. The three colleges have a coordinated application process for students seeking to study at any
of the Accord Colleges. Under the Accord, you will not be able to make an application to both Varndean
College and BHASVIC. This is so that these two sixth form colleges can effectively plan curriculum
provision to cater for as many students wishing to study in one of these colleges as possible. You are,
however, welcome to make an application to either of these colleges plus Brighton MET.

3. ADMISSIONS INTERVIEW
Look around our beautiful and unique campus, find
out about our superb academic track record and
the outstanding support we provide, meet our staff
and students to talk about specific subjects, as
well as attend any presentations taking place.
You will be invited to attend an Admissions
Interview, usually in January/February.
At the interview we will discuss your course
choices with you, and providing you are predicted
to meet the required entry requirements and you
are supported by your school, you will be offered
a conditional place. Please note that late in the
application cycle, this may be a ‘waiting list offer’.

Tues 8 Oct 2024, 6.30pm – 7.45pm
If you have accepted an offer of a place here,
you will be invited to attend our New Students’
Day in the summer term.
This is when you will experience some time with
us as a sixth form student, meet subject tutors,
and learn more becoming part of the Varndean
College community from September.

PRIORITY DEADLINE
Friday 6 Dec 2024
Applications are accepted after this date, but
priority is given to those received by the deadline.
Following your GCSE results, you will be
invited to attend a second Enrolment Interview
in late August.
This is when we can discuss your results and
finalise your programme of study. Do not worry
if you haven’t met the requirements for a specific
course, we will discuss this with you and help find
an alternative course that suits you.

6. INDUCTION
Attend an Induction Day in early September and
begin your journey as a Varndean College student!
