In 2023, the Careers Team were awarded ‘Careers
Champions 2023’ by The Careers and Enterprise
Company for making the most significant
contribution to developing links between
education and the workplace, and for developing
creative methods to enable skills development in
young people and meeting the needs of the Local
Skills Improvement Plan.
Student Progression
l
We are in the top 10% of UK schools and sixth form
colleges for ‘value added’, which means students
achieve higher grades than were predicted based
on the GCSE results they came to us with. In 2023
our A level students achieved higher levels of
academic improvement than students in 90% of
other UK schools and colleges.

Our students go on to study at a wide range
of top UK universities, including Oxford and
Cambridge, Birmingham, Bristol, Durham,
Exeter, Imperial College, King’s College
London, Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham,
Sheffield, UCL, Warwick and York.
l
Recent HESA (Higher Education Statistics
Agency) statistics show that in 2022, 94.8%
of our students studying at Russell Group
universities graduated with a First or Upper
Second-Class honours degree, higher than
those students from the independent sector.
l
Many of our students choose to move straight
into an apprenticeship or employment.
