“I chose to come to Varndean College
because I knew that not only would I
receive the education I needed, but also
the excellent support provided meant that
I would be able apply myself to my studies
without the fear of it having a negative
impact on my wellbeing.
I’ve always had a love of writing and
knowing that journalism was my end goal,
Film and English were my obvious choice
of subjects. Then to broaden my horizons,
I chose to study Business Studies so that
when I entered my career path of being
a media journalist, I could be adaptable
when the need arose. I also participated in
Board Games and Short Film enrichment
which helped me to become more sociable
and engage in activities which I enjoyed.
During my time at Varndean, I have won two
Business awards.
What I have enjoyed most about being at
Varndean College is that I have felt valued,
and the College has supported me when I
have needed it during tough times. I have
undergone major personal growth during my
time here and feel like I am a better person.
This would have not been possible if it
hadn’t been for the support I have received.
I am now hoping to study Journalism at the
University of West London with the plan
afterwards of becoming a journalist focusing
in media and critique.”
