“I chose Varndean College due to its great
academic results, its diverse community and the
support with your studies that I felt other colleges
did not provide.
I chose to study A Levels in Business, Maths and
Physics because I originally wanted to pursue
a career in architecture. Maths had been my
favourite subject since primary school and I
wanted to carry this passion through into college
and learn new mathematical theories. Studying
Maths also strengthened my mathematical skills
in A Level Physics and the two subjects really
intertwined well together. I really enjoyed the
complicated concepts in Physics and unravelling
why things act the way they do, thus developing
my critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
I found Business Studies extremely interesting,
learning about how the real world operates and
acquiring life skills that can be implemented in
your daily life. Taking Business opened by eyes
into the field of economics and now instead of
following a career in architecture, I am hoping
to study Economics and Finance at Queen Mary
University of London and pursue a career in
finance instead.
Studying at Varndean College really helps you
connect with people from different backgrounds
and with the flexible timetable, gives you time for
independent study which plays a massive role in
getting prepared for life at university.”
