STEM AT VARNDEAN COLLEGE
Inspiring the next generation of scientists,
technologists, engineers and mathematicians
With its £2.9m STEM Centre, Varndean College is
at the forefront to offer those students wishing to
pursue careers in science, maths and engineering,
the finest opportunity of progressing to the next
stage of their careers. The STEM Centre enables
students and staff to benefit from four huge
impressive science labs, six teaching rooms, as
well as a fabulous central atrium.
Varndean College offers an extensive range of
STEM subjects; including traditional A Levels such
as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science,
Maths and Further Maths, as well as vocational
courses in Applied Biology (Medical Science),
Engineering, and Applied Science.
Studying STEM subjects can enable students
to follow degrees and careers which are much
sought after owing to their high demand in
commerce and industry. The challenging,
rigorous academic framework, combined with the
requisite technical and practical skills developed
throughout the course, make them ideal choices
for developing skills which keep pace with the
advances being made in technology and science.
Our students also take part in a wide range of
extra-curricular activities and competitions, with
many leaving to progress onto higher education
courses at top universities.
