6. Science vis Versailles
Versailles: Science and Splendour the upcoming exhibition at the Science Museum (12 December
2024 – 21 April 2025), will aim to unveil the fascinating stories of science at Versailles, exploring how scienti昀椀c knowledge became widespread, fashionable, and a tool of power to enhance
France’s prestige. Visitors will be invited to discover the unexpected, yet vitally important, role of
science at the French royal court through spectacular scienti昀椀c objects and artworks. It will feature beautiful objects linked to the French royal family, from splendid timepieces and gilded microscopes to 昀椀ne still-life artworks and ornate sculptures which decorated the halls of the palace.
Many items will be on display for the 昀椀rst time in the UK including Louis XV’s rhinoceros. The
sumptuous exhibition will also give visitors the chance to see the opulent gardens of Versailles in
a new light, and shed light on lesser-known stories of women in science at the royal court.

7. Winter Wonderland News
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland has announced the return of Winter Wishes, a free and accessible
experience for charities, hospitals and underserved schools. Taking place on Wednesday 27st
November, the event will once again close its doors to the public and o昀昀er guests the opportunity to enjoy free entry, rides and attractions at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland with a reduced
capacity and in a lower sensory environment. Winter Wonderland will operate at a signi昀椀cantly
reduced capacity during Winter Wishes, ensuring it is accessible not just for those with additional
昀椀nancial constraints but also those with physical and sensory sensitivities. The event will feature
enhanced accessibility measures including reduced lighting and sound levels, low-sensory skating
on the open-air Ice Rink, audio guides in the Magical Ice Kingdom, and an increased number of
accessible facilities.

8. The Horrors Announce New Album - Night Life
The Horrors have announced their sixth studio album ‘Night Life’, out March 21st 2025 via
Fiction Records. The album announcement is accompanied by brand new single and video ‘The
Silence That Remains’ as well as a winter string of intimate shows including London’s ICA on
November 28th. Featuring duet vocals between Faris Badwan and new keyboardist Amelia
Kidd, the release marks the beginning of a new era for the band, drawing their recent industrial
experimentation together with The Horrors’ signature, motoring rhythms for a thrilling 昀椀rst taste
of the album to follow. The ‘Night Life’ here is not the vim and vigour of pubs and clubs. It’s the
thoughts that happen under the cover of darkness; the places your mind takes you when the rest
of the world is asleep. It’s de昀椀ned by the band as a record born out of a desire to revive the raw,
instinctive spirit of the band’s early work.
