and TRAC Media Highlights
The following data, provided by TRAC Media Services, represents the overall demographic
makeup of Kansas City’s metropolitan area in correlation to the demographics of Kansas City PBS
viewers. Of the 1,019,148 households in the Kansas City metro, Kansas City PBS reaches a quarterly
average of 183,675 unique homes during our “primetime,” which consists of programming that
aired Monday–Sunday from 7-10 p.m.
Kansas City PBS has a particularly strong presence in African-American homes, reaching 14%
of this demographic in the region—an over-index compared to the 12% African-American
population within the Kansas City metro area. Hispanic households represent 4% of Kansas City
PBS’ viewership and 8% of the region, while white non-Hispanic households make up 79% of
Kansas City PBS viewers and 82% of the region.
