The Ridge 12pp broch - Flipbook - Page 4
DESCRIPTION
The Ridge is believed to have been constructed in
2009 by the revered PH Homes and was painstakingly
designed by the award-winning Stephenson Bell
architects with truly spectacular, generously proportioned
accommodation laid out over three floors.
This unique, contemporary house incorporates rectilinear
design with dramatic cantilevers, walls of glass,
recessed balconies and doors to create a truly original
piece of architecture. Finished in a combination of
materials chosen to complement each other, creating a
contemporary expression, whilst being harmonious with
its surroundings, with the design taking full advantage of
the breathtaking views.
There is a suite of large, light and airy spaces finished in
limestone, fumed oak, stainless steel and glass combining
to create a cool, contemporary feel with the centrepiece
of the house being a sensational double-height drawing
room which is flooded with light from the two-storey
wall of glass affording views across the Cheshire Plain.
There are also more intimate family spaces which are
linked by a magnificent wooden staircase and lift.
The ground floor houses the mainly open-plan family and
entertainment spaces. The first floor houses the principal
bedroom suite with dressing room, en suite and balcony.
There are three further double bedrooms, all of which are
en suite, with built-in wardrobes. The lower ground floor
houses the outstanding leisure suite with swimming pool,
sauna, Jacuzzi, gym, changing rooms and bedroom suite
five, which would make an ideal guest or staff suite.
