Racecourse Farm - Flipbook - Page 4
DESCRIPTION
This is the first time Racecourse Farm has been on
the market since it was bought by the current owner
in 1969. Renovated in the early 1970s, it retains
many of the classic features, making the house
something of an undiscovered gem. As you would
expect of a housing design from this era, there is a
lateral layout with a sequence of reception rooms,
each opening out to landscaped private grounds. The
design, inside and out, nods to American influence.
The weatherboard exterior gives it a distinctive look.
A glazed entrance hall leads through to versatile
dining and sitting areas, delineated by level changes
and an ironwork staircase to the first floor. A
kitchen and wood-panelled billiard room, bookend
both wings with a light-filled drawing room as
centrepiece. A series of seven bedrooms and two
bathrooms unfurl across the first floor leading to a
serviced annex. There are undeveloped barns on
two floors, providing further potential to extend and
create the most fabulous family home. In all, there is
extensive scope to modernize throughout.
