DESCRIPTION
Following an extensive transformation, this home, with
its welcoming drawing room, dining room, wonderful
snug and four bedrooms, one of which is on the ground
floor with an en suite and access to outside, feels spacious
yet completely cosy. Its versatile interior is punctuated
by double-glazed hardwood windows befitting of the
property’s period, and timber-beamed walls, which makes
a feature of the traditional architecture that dates to the
1600s. Working with the original building frame, the
house has been completely reroofed, insulated, rewired,
and fitted with a top line heating system but what’s
fantastic about the house is its heritage. Looking to inject
some love into the evolved 17th century property, its
current owners approached the interior design with the
intention to keep all the charms of the vernacular.
Inside, the layered, yet pared-back interiors stick to a
simple palette of soft white, for instance, the chic-looking
kitchen features Silestone grey-veined countertops and
the cabinets are painted pale grey. A staircase from the
kitchen leads to a lovely dressing area and en suite
bathroom that forms part of the principal bedroom. The
bathrooms throughout are Porcelanosa-tiled with Villeroy
& Boch plus Hansgrohe fittings. There is also a large
cellar, which is perfect for wine. Having had a revamp
that’s a complete overhaul, this home has kept all the
important elements from its heritage: its location, large
internal space but is now as good as new.
