DESCRIPTION
Set on the banks of Mottram Road, this Victorian house
with porch entrance has been blessed with a glorious
outlook, both inside and out. After a comprehensive
redesign, its striking four-bedroom interior has a sense of
flow and modernity that is quite unique - perfectly suited to
family life and flooded with natural light. The house, brickbuilt in the late 19th-century opens into spacious interior,
in which a lofty living area is overlooked by a mezzanine.
Inspired by European design, the room features a bespoke
bookcase across one wall and a classic stone fireplace on the
other. There is a separate snug/study and utility to the side.
A short staircase leads to a characterful kitchen and dining
area, which is becoming to the style of the house. Here,
original brick walls are left exposed, and the glossy red
cabinet fronts provide a jolt of colour. Throughout the
house, walls are painted in a spectrum of Mediterranean
hues and maple joinery adds honey-toned warmth. A glass
staircase opens to the first and second floors. There are
two bedrooms on the first floor, plus two bathrooms, and a
room currently used as a gym. Perhaps the most surprising
element is the property’s top floor where each bedroom has
incredible views across the Alderley Edge Cricket Club and
towards the Manchester skyline.
