GARDENS
Breck Cottage sets secluded at the end of a meandering
private drive. The drive has retaining stone walls and
leads to a large tarmacadam parking and turning area
for numerous cars to the side of the house and fronting
the outbuilding. The house is totally protected by its
extensive gardens, which afford a good degree of privacy.
The house enjoys an elevated position, with the front of
the house enjoying views of Styperson Pool/lake with
the hills behind. The formal area of the lawns lies to the
side, western elevation and enjoys the evening sun, with
a wide gravel terrace accessed via doors from the family
and oak room, with level manicured lawns and wide
herbaceous borders bounded by a stone wall. There is
a sun-drenched south-facing courtyard accessed from
the kitchen and the oak room providing a wonderful
alfresco dining area.
The majority of the gardens stretch away to the eastern
elevation with wooded dells and woodland walks, large
expanses of lawns/paddock land, a lit, netted hard tennis
court and many elevated seating areas to enjoy the
breathtaking views.
