Our Hearing Matters in Care services continued to
ensure older people with hearing loss living in care
homes were better understood and supported
and we extended our reach to train care agencies.
We changed our name to Engage — Hearing
Matters for Outstanding Care and are excitedly
creating a new discrete website for Engage.
A big thank you to each and every one of our
supporters, without whom JDA would not be here
for the 2,500 people who bene昀椀t from our services
each year.
Thank you to our amazing sta昀昀 and volunteers
who, as always, have worked so incredibly hard.
We are truly blessed to have such special
people working together to sustain our loving,
caring, wonderful JDA community.
I wish everyone in our JDA community health and
happiness always — and may the coming year
bring peace for us all.

JDA New Year Greetings
New Year message from Trudy Kling, JDA Chairman
It has been another
good year at the
JDA, despite historic
di昀케culties. The war
following the 7th
October events has
been horri昀椀c. Rising
antisemitism generally,
and toward Jewish
Deaf people across the
country, has been alarming. It has generated
strong views and hostility from other Deaf people,
sometimes even from friends.
We have worked hard to ensure everyone knows
that, here at the JDA, our community centre is a
place where all Deaf people are warmly welcomed,
where everyone feels safe, respected, supported
and loved. We will continue to look after each
other and support Deaf people as one community.
On a brighter note, we had another successful
year 昀椀nancially. Generous legacies, donations
and our 2024 crowdfunding campaign raised
important new funds and allowed us to continue
all our services throughout the year. I add my own
heartfelt thanks to everyone involved.
I thank Sue and our entire sta昀昀 for being beyond
amazing! Thank you also to our very special
volunteers who are so important to us. Each and
every one of you is appreciated more than you know.
Finally, our Board of Trustees and all of our
faithful supporters have, as always, been terri昀椀c.
Thank you for continuing to be there for us.
My family join me in wishing you all a very happy
and healthy 5785. May it be a safe and healthy one.
