PUTTING THE
"JEWISH"
IN J CAMPS
J Camps Rituals and Traditions
Each day begins with singing the Hatikvah (Israeli National
Anthem) at the Flagpole morning gathering. We give thanks
before and after meals by raising our voices in Hamotzi and Birkat blessings.
Shabbat Celebration
On Fridays, we celebrate Shabbat through cheers, chants, dancing, traditions,
and yummy treats, we mark why this day is a special time to pause and show
gratitude together.
Jewish Values
All of our camp activities are designed to be infused with Jewish values such as
"Kehillah" (Community), "Hakira" (Curiosity), "Tikkun Olam" (Repair the World),
"Ruach" (Spirit), “Simcha” (Joy), “Petichut” (Welcoming), “Ometz Lev” (Courage), and “Chesed”(Kindness) and more! Each week we will dive deeper into a
speci昀椀c value through hands-on experiences, music, games, and activities.
Mensch Moments
Throughout the week our counselors are on the look out catching our
campers in 'mensch moments'. These are times when they may speci昀椀cally
portray our value of the week, doing a good deed, or being a mensch!
Israeli Culture
Campers are introduced to Israel through culture and informal educational
experiences that engage all 5 senses. We learn about Israeli Culture from our
visiting Israeli Shlichim counselors and specialists.
