paves the way for years of sustained
excellence in the work that matters
the most— in our classrooms, in the
student experience, in our ability to
get learners to the finish line, in the
way we prepare our graduates to
succeed in their careers, and in the
relationships we maintain with our
alumni and other supporters.
On August 12, we held our annual Faculty and Staff Convocation
where we shared updates on enrollment, capital projects, the launch
of VSU 2030, and the initiation of a
feasibility study for a new capital
campaign. This coming year various
Vision Events will be held across
the state with VSU alumni and other supporters to similarly communicate the great news about where
we are headed.

CARVAJAL Last spring VSU com-
pleted a comprehensive review of
our academic program offerings to
ensure that they align with employer and student demand. Our top five
undergraduate degrees based on
fall 2023 enrollment are psychology, elementary education, nursing,
management, and biology. Both
nursing and elementary education

degrees are helping to fill a national
shortage, and we are proud to be
providing programs that are at capacity and addressing the need for
frontline workers.
VSU’s top five graduate degrees
are library and information science,
public administration, teacher leadership, business administration, and
instructional technology.
