Dr. Richard Carvajal took over as
10th president of Valdosta State
University, on January 1, 2017.
Prior to VSU, Carvajal served as
president of Bainbridge State
College. That was before being
appointed interim president of
Darton State College, where he
helped lead a consolidation with
Albany State University.
Carvajal holds a PhD in Higher Education Administration from
the University of South Carolina, a Masters in College Student
Personnel Administration from
Southern Illinois University, and a
Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication and Sociology from
East Central University.
