elta Air Lines recently
announced a renewed
commitment to its
hometown of Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson
International Airport, where in 2025
it will introduce its largest flight
schedule ever, with nearly 75 additional daily departures compared to
summer 2024.
Starting next summer Delta will
offer 1.1 million weekly seats, 968
daily flights and service to 215 destinations from Atlanta, an increase of
75 extra daily departures over 2024.
And make sure to get those passports renewed— if there’s a theme
for summer 2025 it’s trans-Atlantic
travel, as Delta unveils its largest-ever European schedule. The largest
U.S. carrier in the Italian market,
Delta is boosting service by over 10
percent year-over-year, offering new
flights to the Amalfi Coast, Rome,
Milan and more. If you’re looking
to get a taste of la dolce vita, there’s
only one way to fly.
Georgia Department of Economic Development Commissioner
Pat Wilson notes the importance
of the new Italian routes from an
economic development perspective. “Italy is a top trading partner
with significant investments in
the Peach State. Building from our
recent economic development mission to Italy, this new direct service
between Atlanta and Naples is a
welcome addition that will further
strengthen Georgia’s longstanding
bilateral partnerships.”
But while some of Delta’s growth
is international— the airline has
also beefed up its connections to
Latin America in recent years with
its LATAM partnership and has added glitzy new routes to key international hubs like Seoul, Barcelona and
Brussels— a large part of it is right
here in the Peach State, with 20 percent more intra-state seats to Savannah, Augusta, Albany, Brunswick,
Columbus and Valdosta, showing
that while Delta may be renowned
as an international airline, its roots
are deep here in the Georgia red clay.
“Home to the world’s busiest
and most efficient airport, Atlanta’s position as a global leader for
cultural and business connectivity
is only enhanced by Delta’s expansion of their domestic and international network,” says Atlanta Mayor
Andre Dickens. “As our hometown
airline and the state’s largest private
employer, Delta plays an integral role in our economy through
workforce opportunities, community investments and meaningful
partnerships.”
