nonprofits are you involved with and
why these?
The 44,893 square foot Swan Building is home to a mix of
well-established medical practices including a plastic surgery
center. This landmark building on Old Milton Parkway includes
high-standard amenities and dramatic glass hallways. SG
Property Services purchased this property in 2016.
PS I have been involved in many
philanthropic and community organizations over my career and believe
that it is important to “donate” your
time to help organizations that strive
to create community benefits.
I am a board member of the
Georgia Department of Natural
Resources (EPD), a member of the
executive committee of the Buckhead Coalition and a governing
board member of Woodward Academy. I have an important, personal
connection to all these organizations. One of my biggest passions is
the outdoors, be it hunting, fishing
or hiking. Being able to watch the
amazing DNR staff and what they
do for the citizens of Georgia is truly
an honor. Their unwavering commitment to state parks, coastal and
wildlife resources and land conservation is likely one of the best untold
stories in Georgia.
The Buckhead Coalition represents the community in which
I live, maintain an office and have
made investments for over a decade.
I believe that hyperlocal commitments of time can yield outsized
impact and the Buckhead Coalition
and its leadership are worthy examples of this.
Finally, Woodward Academy
is my alma mater and where my
children are currently in school. It is
one of the finest private K-12 schools
in the country. My time at Woodward
exposed me to racial, religious and,
importantly, zip code diversity—
while most importantly providing a
wonderful education.
CM Can you discuss your board com-
mitments— specifically your appointment to the state DNR board? Why is
board service important to you?
PS Gov. Nathan Deal appointed
me to the Georgia Department of
Natural Resources Board over 10
years ago. Since I was young, I have
always been a dedicated hunter

and fisherman. I remember going
on hunts in Henry County before
sunrise when I was in college and
then driving back to Georgia Tech
for classes. Today, I enjoy taking my
wife and daughters with me when I
go fishing and quail hunting and am
proud to say they enjoy it too.
Georgia’s state parks, natural
resources and wildlife are one of our
state’s most valuable resources. I am
proud to serve on the DNR board and
appreciate the opportunity to serve
the great state of Georgia.
CM Can you talk about the early
beginnings of SGPS and the role it
played in commercial real estate
development in metro Atlanta?
PS I founded SGPS based on the
recognized need for a real estate
firm dedicated to the operation,
development and management of
medical office space. We began our
initial geography in metro Atlanta
and have now expanded throughout
the Southeast.
It’s gratifying to me that our
team has fostered growth over the
past decade to include affiliates in
Florida, the Carolinas, Tennessee
and Texas. SG Property Services also
oversees real estate for both independent physician practices and many
of the major hospital networks in
metro Atlanta, covering over 1 million
square feet in the region.
