numbers and have invested in our
facilities and programs to ensure that
our athletes can compete at the highest
level of play.
Our newest addition, the Anthony
P. Tippins Family Training Facility, is a
transformative project that will allow us
to better support the training needs of
all our sports and elevate our gameday
experience for fans. As we look to the
future, our goal is to be recognized as
the premier athletic department in the
Sun Belt Conference and elite within
the non-autonomy conferences.
With the continued support of
Eagle Nation, we are well on our way.
Tuition cost is too often an obstacle for
students and parents. How does Georgia
Southern provide an affordable, highquality education?
I commend our state’s leadership
for keeping costs affordable for students
in Georgia. As a state, we are seventh
lowest in average tuition and fees

among public four-year institutions
across the nation. As a research institution, Georgia Southern prides itself on
providing a high value to our students
for an affordable cost. Ninety-one percent of our students receive some form
of financial aid and we are continuously
assessing and improving our operations
to ensure we are supporting our students in a way that is most beneficial
for them, while being most efficient and
effective in our approach.
For example, through philanthropic support and strategic partnerships,
students have the opportunity to
spend a semester of study abroad on
our campus in Wexford, Ireland, for no
additional cost above a typical semester
on one of our main campuses. Through
internships, research, project-focused
coursework, and cultural experiences
like Ireland, our students can attain a
well-rounded education that will prepare them with the skills to be critical
thinkers, problem solvers, and leaders— and ultimately ready to make an
immediate impact in their careers and
communities upon graduation.
