Cumberland CID
This turf is nestled in at the junction of I-75/I-285. For many years, the
district’s jewel was the Cobb Galleria
and Cumberland Mall. These are still
great assets, but it is also now home
to Truist Park and the Battery, along
with the headquarters for Papa Johns,
Home Depot and Genuine Parts Company among others.
With those resources and more,
this CID has an approximately $24
billion annual economic impact statewide and more than $18 billion just for
Cobb County. It is also home to part of
the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, making it a destination
for outdoor recreation, attracting tens
of thousands who want to “Shoot the
Hooch” every year.
In January, Cumberland and Cobb
County officials broke ground on an extension and new trailhead for the Bob
Callan Trail— a connection starting at
Windy Hill Road and running down to
the national park land. The $7.4 million
project will connect nearly four miles

Known as the Cumberland Boulevard Interchange over I-75
of trails beginning at the Paces Mill/
Palisades Unit to Terrell Mill Road.
“This groundbreaking showcases
a remarkable partnership between the
Atlanta Regional Commission, Cobb
County and the Cumberland CID,” said
Cumberland Board Chair John Shern.
“Our commitment over the past 36
years is to make our community more
accessible, more connected, and more
vibrant. It is what we do, and this trail
will be a critical piece in connecting
the northern part of our District to the
core of Cumberland.”
