and now under the leadership of
CEO and President Neil Pruitt, Jr., the
health system works daily to ensure
patients receive the care they need
within the same family of providers.
“We anticipate our patients’ needs
and have set in place best practices to
ensure high-quality care is delivered
with love and professionalism,” said
Pruitt. “Our model of care is designed
to significantly reduce rehospitalizations and improve patient outcomes.”
that ensures all patients and families
are recognized and treated as respected customers. Special emphasis has
been placed on creating a patient-centric corporate culture that empowers
partners (employees) to deliver the
highest possible quality of care through
an upscale consumer experience.

There’s no doubt why PruittHealth
has become a leader in post-acute
care and senior living services. The
numbers tell the story.

It all began in the small north
Georgia town of Toccoa. Community
pharmacist Neil Pruitt, Sr. recognized
the needs of his customers and opened
the first PruittHealth skilled nursing
facility in his hometown. “During those
days, people trusted their local pharmacist as much as they did their family
doctor,” his son noted. “My father heard
the needs of the people he served in
the community, and that led him to
open a skilled nursing facility.”
The rest, as they say, is history.
Pruitt, Jr. became CEO of PruittHealth
in 2002 at the age of 27. A year later, he
was named chairman and CEO following the untimely death of his father. He
has been responsible for establishing
strategic direction for the company and
fostering an environment focused on
the delivery of quality health care.
He has also led the organization to
expand and diversify, while strengthening its financial structure and significantly improving service delivery
capabilities. The PruittHealth family
of providers includes skilled nursing
and rehabilitation centers, assisted
living, independent living communities, home health, hospice agencies,
pharmacy and infusion services, and
medical supply.
Pruitt has instituted quality improvement initiatives such as multi-million-dollar renovation projects and an
outstanding customer service program

Assisted Living and Independent Living)
• 27 Home Health Agencies
• 26 Hospice Agencies
• 10 Home First Providers

And the future continues to look
bright under Pruitt’s leadership.
PruittHealth acquired three skilled
nursing centers from Piedmont (two
in Augusta, and one in Stockbridge) in
October 2023. Those health care centers are now renamed PruittHealth-Evans, PruittHealth— Richmond, and
PruittHealth- Laurel Park.
PruittHealth will break ground in
2024 on a 350-million-dollar development in Raleigh at its current location,
The Oaks at Whitaker Glen. The continuing care retirement community will
offer luxury, independent senior living
with resort-like amenities as well as
assisted living, skilled nursing, therapy,
and other services. And plans for new
skilled nursing centers in Pensacola
and Nashville as well as begin offering
hospice services in Tennessee.
