first, it was a very scary prospect,
but, led by Patterson, Trilith was
able to recover and was the first U.S.
production studio back to regular
business.
FILM INCENTIVE SUCCESS
“COVID actually provided us a
chance to grow as a company and
work more closely with clients than
‘normal.’ When it first hit, the studio
was nearly at capacity. We went from
a bustling lot to a ghost town in a
matter of 24 hours,” says Patterson.
“Our team immediately came together with our clients to begin discussing ways we could safely get back to
work. Ultimately, we created unique
solutions including testing protocols,
safety zones based on the industry
rules— and even built a new exterior
visual effects pad. All these efforts allowed us to get what ended up being
the first U.S. production back to work
during this time— “Spider-Man: No
Way Home.”
Some of this production was
made possible by Georgia’s opening
a little earlier than other states. It
was also undoubtedly made possible
by the continuance of those aforementioned tax credits.
“Georgia is regularly recognized
as a top state in which to do business,
even ranking No. 1 for 10 years in a
row in Area Development magazine,”
Patterson emphasizes. “This is the
result of strong bi-partisan leadership
who remain focused on finding policy
solutions that keep Georgia top of
mind for a variety of industries. Georgia’s successful film incentive is a
result of this policy focus and remains
critical to the success of our creative
and entertainment industries.”
