THE BATTERY ATLANTA and Truist
Park in Cobb County continue to set the
gold standard for mixed-use developments and sports venues. Over the past
year, these destinations have not only
solidified their reputation as a hub for
entertainment, dining, and sports but
also achieved remarkable milestones
that reflect their growing influence on
the local and regional economy.
“To say we have exceeded expectations, is really an understatement,”
says Mike Plant, president and CEO of
the Atlanta Braves Development Company. “I believe this is the greatest example of a public-private partnership,
and I believe the growth and success
will continue for years to come.”
The Battery Atlanta, which
surrounds Truist Park, has become a
model for integrating lifestyle amenities with professional sports. This 2.25
million-square-foot development offers
an eclectic mix of restaurants, retail
stores, office spaces, residential units,
and entertainment venues. Embarking on its ninth season, this popular
area has seen robust attendance and
visitor numbers throughout the years.
Plant says that 2023 was no different
with record numbers, and he expects
2024 to show continued growth. The
Battery reported a 10 percent increase
in foot traffic in 2023 compared to
the previous year— driven by special
events, concerts and expanded retail
options. The year-round programming
has been instrumental in attracting
diverse audiences.
In 2023, The Battery Atlanta welcomed a record 10.3 million visitors,
with the majority coming from outside
Cobb County. Truist Park, home to the
Atlanta Braves, hosted over 3.2 million
fans during the 2023 season. That
makes it one of the most attended
ballparks in Major League Baseball.
“That’s 13 million visitors, and 7
million plus are coming to visit The
Battery even when the Braves are not
playing a game,” said Plant. Furthermore, he notes, the average person
spends 168 minutes at The Battery
and Truist Park. That’s significant.

Truist Park, the home of the Braves.
Fresh off another successful season,
the baseball team once again demonstrated its dominance in Major League
Baseball. With a dynamic roster and
passionate fan base, the team consistently fills the stadium— contributing
to record-breaking attendance.
This success extends beyond the
field. Truist Park has earned accolades
for its state-of-the-art amenities, including upgraded seating options and
enhanced food and beverage offerings.
The venue continues to innovate, providing fans with unique experiences,
such as “The Coors Light Chop House”
and premium seating areas like the
Delta Sky360 Club.
