FOREWORD
After a challenging yearling sales season for breeders,
especially in the middle and lower tiers of the market, the
Irish National Stud is pleased to announce that we are
maintaining all our stallion fees at the same rates for 2025.
We are delighted to announce the retirement of Shouldvebeenaring
to the Irish National Stud, marking the emergence of Havana
Grey as a Sire of Sires. A Stakes winner at 2yo, 3yo and 4yo
Shouldvebeenaring hails from Havana Grey’s first crop. He displayed
remarkable soundness of mind, wind and limb throughout his career,
retiring as Havana Grey’s Highest Earning colt, accumulating £552,754
from fifteen wins and placed efforts from thirty starts. With a High
Timeform Rating of 118, he was his father’s equal. He will provide
exceptional value standing for just €6,000.
The arrival of Shouldvebeenaring coincides with the retirement
of our previous Group 1 Haydock Sprint Cup winner, the breedshaping, Invincible Spirit. His victory in the race by a nose is mirrored
by Shouldvebeenaring finishing second in the same race, by the same
distance. We hope that lightening can strike twice and look forward
to ensuring Invincible Spirit has a wonderful retirement at the stud,
befitting his legendary status.
For Phoenix of Spain, 2024 represented a coming of age, as his first
crop of three-year-olds made it to the track. Led by the valiant Group
