BTEC LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA
Emily
A diploma in sport will give students a solid foundation in
the sector, enabling them to develop essential skills required
for gaining employment, securing career progression, or
progressing to further qualifications and training required to
achieve their goals.
Aer studying at Cromwell for 5 years, I had to choose it for sixth form.
The transition was effortless and the familiarity for the school helped me
settle in quickly. I can study the subjects I want, am able to spend time
in private study completing revision and homework tasks, to further my
understanding, and I feel comfortable to ask for help when I need it.

Anatomy and physiology
Fitness training and programming for health, sport and wellbeing
Professional development in the sports industry
Sports leadership
Investigating business in the sport and active leisure industry
Skill acquisition in sport
Learners will also choose three optional units that have been
designed to support progression to the range of sector-related
courses in higher education, and to link with relevant occupational
areas.
Great subject pairings
Sport goes well with psychology and biology as well as business.
Life aer Sixth Form
This course introduces the sector for students looking to build a
career in sport within one of its occupational areas. These areas
include careers in exercise and fitness, coaching and leadership,
sports development, and the outdoors.
Course-specific entry requirements
No additional requirements to the main entry to sixth form
information.

WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY
One thing that stood out to me the most was the support system of
Mrs Fisher, Mrs Paul and our sixth form mentors, their dedication and
kindness helped to welcome and settle us all in. Their knowledge and
advice of university applications has made the process less stressful and
allowed me to focus my attention primarily on my studies.
At A level I chose law, psychology and sociology
along with an enrichment of core maths. These
subjects have challenged me but with the help
of my talented teachers I am able to succeed
and achieve the best possible grades.
