CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT
The company’s own medical consultants and
experts assess members’ ability to work. This
means, firstly, that cases are settled considerably
faster, and secondly that Industriens Pension pays
far larger amounts and for longer periods to
members affected by sickness, than if the
company had simply followed assessments from
the municipality.
Since 2012, Industriens Pension has paid DKK 6.5
bn. in insurance for loss of the ability to work.
In 2021 alone, 1,581 members were awarded
insurance compensation due to loss of the ability
to work. Furthermore, in 2021, 1,370 members
were awarded compensation for critical illness,
while 1,706 surviving relatives received insurance
payouts due to the death of their relative.

Outlook for the coming years
In the years ahead, the pension scheme will
continue to undergo significant development to
adjust to members’ needs and the expectations of
society.
Through several ongoing initiatives, sustainability
will thus become even more prominent in
investment processes.
Insurance products are regularly renewed and
adapted to match the needs of different groups of
members, and new IT solutions, new applications
for artificial intelligence and continued
development of digital tools for members will
secure Industriens Pension a place at the forefront
of digital technologies.
For Industriens Pension, another focus area is to
ensure that members receive the insurance
benefits to which they are entitled - irrespective of
whether the members are aware that they are
entitled to such benefits. Consequently,
Industriens Pension collaborates with the Danish
Agency for Labour Market and Recruitment (STAR)
and Statens Serum Institut (SSI) to ensure that
members on long-term sick leave or who have
been diagnosed with a serious illness are
encouraged to contact Industriens Pension. The
aim is to check whether their insurance with
Industriens
Pension
entitles
them
to
compensation.
Industriens Pension thereby helps members who
may not have been aware of the possibility to
contact Industriens Pension in the event of serious
illness or partial loss of the ability to work.
