San Sebastian & Little Trains of Basque Country
This coastal city framed by golden beaches and the lush hillsides, San Sebastián has undeniable allure, a
cosmopolitan city renowned for its cuisine, award-winning urban beaches, and Parisian-inspired architecture, making
it one of the most attractive cities on the Cantabrian coast. We will take a ride on the Monte Igueldo Funicular, which
will take us to the highest point of the city where we will enjoy a panoramic view. Visit the Basque Railway Museum,
one of the most outstanding railway collections in Europe, featuring steam, diesel and electric locomotives, railcars,
and a selection of carriages and wagons. Take a ride on a 19th Century Steam Train Azpeitia*, with a visit to a family
run Taxacolí winery for a guided visit and tasting of this unique Basque white wine. Visit Hendaye (France) where we
will go on the rack rail train La Ruhne. In the town of Sara, 10 km from Saint Jean de Luz, this authentic vintage rack
railway, dating back to 1924, takes you to 905 meters above sea level in the mythical peak of the Basque Country
Explore the Castle Abbadie (the Downton Abbey of Hendaye). Bilbao where we will visit the city center, passing by
the Gugenheim Museum we experience the funiculars of the Hanging bridge crossing over the river, the historical
Cliff Railway Larreineta, built in 1926 and finally the funicular of Artxanda taking us up to one of the highest points
of the city with a spectacular panoramic view of Bilbao.
