THE INNER REALMS OF THE WOODS
by Elita Purcill
'The clearest way into the Universe is
through a forest
wilderness'
John Muir.
Have you been called into the inner realms of the
woods?
Step into the woods with an open mind and heart .. It
is just beyond the walls into the inner realms.
When we enter the woods, we enter into the unseen
presence of a whole other world - A living, breathing
organism. There are many forms of life and
intelligence and realms of many forms. plants,
elemental kingdoms and the fairy folk.
We become very aware that humans are not the only
living things in the world.
Pixies and Elves may be felt around you. Hundreds of
elementals like sparks of Light! What was that that
you glimpsed out of the corner of your eye in the
nearby glade or rushing stream?
aware of the song of a bird which may be on a branch
from a nearby tree and looking up you may see it.
A gentle breeze, and then it is gone. That is the spirit
of the land. If we stand or sit for a while there we may
feel that a connection has been made and nature has
responded and communicated to us.
If you need an energy boost, sit under a tree - what
messages do you hear. What do you feel?
Stay and rest a while in this space and be aware of
what thoughts, visions and messages come to you.
Let us go into the woods with an open mind and
heart. Let us gently make our presence into the
middle realms - The unseen realms. These realms are
just beyond our normal level of awareness and
consciousness.
When you feel guided, begin to walk with an awareness
of each step. Notice the wind moving through the trees.
The play of light through a canopy. Notice what you
sense, see, feel and hear. Take a moment to stop and
be with that experience.
You are being greeted by Pan, the Spirit of the
Woods. He works so closely with nature and all the
elementals. Can you hear the melody of the flute he is
playing?
You may want to repeat these affirmations during your
stay in this sacred space.
You become aware of the sacred geometry in the
trunks of the trees, the shapes, the spirals, the
patterns. You become aware of the colours and the
flowers and the leaves.
'I pave the path of Light in time and space'
You feel the vibration and the light around you. As
you tune into the light around you, be aware of the
sounds around you in a beautiful glade.
What if we were able to communicate with the wild
things and what messages would they have for us?
Find a space for yourself and settle into the present
moment as you expand your senses and experience
the natural world around you.
Suddenly a leaf falls from a tree - It may be that
beside it there is a mossy bank or stream. We may be
'I am open to receiving the messages of Nature'
'I am at one with Nature'
'All wisdom and aspects of myself are awakened and
accessible to me'
'I bend to the winds of change'
'I am secure, grounded and stable'
Conclusion
The woods and nature help us reconnect with who we
are and remind us of the interconnectedness of all
living things. The woods teach us that collaboration is
important and harmonious. Remember that you are
part of nature and connected to it in so many
wonderful and healing ways!
