3.4 APPOINTING THE TEMPORARY WORKS TEAM3.4.8Due to the potential for conflict of interest, TWC’s and TWS’s should not take on otherroles despite being qualified to do so.3.4.9Whilst BS 5975 only recommends that those responsible for management of temporaryworks, i.e. the DI, the PC’s TWC, TWC (other than the PC’s TWC) and TWS, should be‘formally appointed in writing’ ALL others involved in the design and supply oftemporary works should be assessed for competency.3.4.10 BS 5975 does not provide a template ‘letter of appointment’ but the following areexamples provided by the Temporary Works Forum.Version 2 © mytemporaryworks 2023 | The control of temporary works – procedural guide46
