Housing maintenance workforceWe have developed a competent and trained workforce to deliver the housing maintenance service to our tenants. In recent years weacquired a local roofing and scaffolding company to contribute to the service. We are also conscious of the need to raise revenue to fundthe HRA and we offer our services to private companies and carry out work for owner-occupiers as well as other Registered Providers on achargeable basis.ApprenticeshipsWe have a corporate commitment to our social valueresponsibilities and are committed to employing andtraining apprentices within the Housing MaintenanceTeam. Since 2014 we have taken on 16 apprentices whohave worked in various trades. We were delighted whentwo of our apprentices were short-listed for a nationalapprenticeship award, with one of them winning.11
