Over 140 lawyers and clients across EMEA came together in our
London office, for our mini MBA style programme teaching financial
and commercial skills through an impact lens, in order to understand
the relevance of social and environmental impact to all of our clients.
As a core part of the programme, our lawyers collaborated to support
31 impact ventures from 7 countries across EMEA with free legal
advice for up to six months.
During the two-day course, attendees heard from Claudine Blamey
(Head of Sustainability, Aviva), Saker Nusseibeh CBE (CEO, Hermes
Fund Managers), Paul Lindley OBE (Founder, Ella’s Kitchen), and Dr
Andrew Bastawrous OBE (CEO, Peek Vision), as well as colleagues
from our EMEA network. There were insightful discussions covering
a range of topics, including:
what role businesses play to tackle the rapidly advancing
climate crisis;
how lawyers can use their skills and expertise as a force for good;
how to best advise our clients and sustainability issues.
