GetSolar
(formerly Solar AI)
GetSolar is a Singapore-based social
enterprise with a singular focus on
the decarbonisation of energy to
achieve an abatement of 100 million
tons of carbon, and a commitment to
reinvesting a majority of their profits
to scale the deployment of distributed
solar regionally. This project
sought to incentivise residential
owners to install solar PV on their
rooftops and turn to green energy
in their daily power consumption.
The project was aimed at reducing
Singapore’s carbon footprint whilst
also supporting the Singapore
government’s commitment to reduce
reliance on natural energy resources.
At the culmination of this project,
Kristen Lau, Senior Associate,
and Supervising Partner, Alex
Wong, who worked together on
this, were nominated by Solar
AI for the TrustLaw ‘Powered
by Pro Bono’ Award.
“Personally, this matter involved a
relatively new product being traded and
so understanding the ins and outs of the
business, including the trading platform,
was eye opening. This was also an excellent
opportunity to get a more in-depth
appreciation of the topic, and being part
of the push towards energy transition”.
