2. RESPECT
Hawthorn Football Club’s engagement principles centre around a co-designed framework with Uncle Wayne Thorpe; Listen, Talk, Connect. The Club values listening to
First Nations communities through our commitment and respect for lived experiences. Through this we can Talk and Connect to develop strong relationships.
Sport plays an important role in promoting respect for First Nations communities, their histories and cultures. Authentic inclusion necessitates building an organisation
that comprehends and respects First Nations communities. The Club embraces a diverse workforce culture and is committed to increasing employment opportunities
for First Nations peoples. Creating a culturally safe and welcoming environment is integral to our strategy and planning for workplace diversity and inclusion.
