NORTHWEST DISTRICT CRIME STATISTICS
PART 1 CRIME
Northwest District personnel serve the Asylum Hill, Blue
Hills, and West End neighborhoods of Hartford.
Under the direction of North Community Service Bureau
Captain Ian Powell, the Northwest District is staffed by a District Commander, Lieutenant Rebecca O’Shea, one sergeant,
three Community Service officers, and four walk beat positions. The three Community Service officers are assigned to
the West End, Blue Hills, and Asylum Hill neighborhoods.
The walk beat positions are established to cover the Farmington Avenue and Blue Hills Avenue areas.
The Northwest District saw an increase in Part 1 crime
of 14.9% from 2019, mostly due to an increase in larceny incidents. However, this is a 7.5% decrease in Part 1
crime from 2018. The District saw decreases in the categories of Rape, Robbery and Burglary, with increases in
Murder, Aggravated Assaults, Larceny, and Auto Theft.
