All subjects are taught from the key objectives as laid out in the National
Curriculum Programmes of Study. All lessons are planned to ensure that children
make progress from their individual starting points.
Reading
We love reading at Hartford Manor and we aim to help your child develop a love
of reading too. The school stocks a wide range of reading schemes and children
are guided to choose a book appropriate to their confidence and interest.
Reading is taught through three main approaches; individual reading, guided
reading and whole class shared reading. Children who experience particular
learning/reading difficulties may need additional intervention. The children are
encouraged to read every evening and have their reading book and diary in
school every day.
